I wandered up to the top of Mt. Soledad and caught it right on time... 
We saw a much brighter object in about the same orbit about 6-8 minutes 
ahead of the tether, we figure it was the shuttle?

Anyway, it was kinda funny watching three of America's Finest
and one CHP unit all parked up there with the officers wondering,
"What the hell are all those geeky people with binocs looking for at 5am?"
(there were about 15 of us at 5:15).
