Wow.  I never met Bevan, but oddly enough, I'm going to miss him.  If I knew
about it sooner, I probably would have tried to make it to the funeral.  I
don't know what would be appropriate to say or do in a situation like this...

I don't believe in an afterlife, which at a time like this seems like a shame.
I guess the only next-best-thing-ish thing to do is to remember him as a
great guy (or so he seemed from his emails).
