Re: Bevan Scroeder

Bevan was an awesome guy. I count it as an honor to have known him; his
technical knowledge was so far above mine that I was in a constant state
of shock when I heard him talk.

He had a distinctively odd sense of humor. His idea of an April Fool's
joke was to rebind the keyboard of his roommate's X terminal, so that
instead of the "h" key typing "h" (as most keyboard's do), it typed
"Happy April Fools Day!!!" Funny thing was that his roommate never noticed
since he only used it to log into ieng9. Coincidentally, his password
included an h in it, so that he kept getting "password incorrect" messages
for a week, until he figured it out. :)

I kind of want to do a prank that he wanted to do for his graduation
last Spring. Sort of a weird memorial kind of thing. Anyone interested
let me know.

I just can't believe the last words I ever said to him were: "Bevan,
I'll probably never see you again." :(
