At a press conference at its corporate headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan,
the Etch-A-Sketch (TM) Corp., announced the following low cost
alternative addresses the Year 2000 bug issue:
Replace all desktop and laptop comupters by Jan, 1999, providing
everyone with an Etch-A-Sketch.
EASC stated the following advantages to this:
1. No Y2K problems - Etch-A-Sketch has been thoroughly tested and found
to be Y2K compliant in all ways.
2. Technical glitches virtually eliminated.
3. No more wasted time reading and writing emails and downloading XXX
photos from the web.
4. No more staff meeting arguements over the advantages of MAC or PC
technology.
According to a press release accompanying the announcement, a "Major
Fortune 500" company has already made the switch, with no decline in
productivity three months after the switch. EASC established a 1-800
number help desk to assist in the transition, and received only 17
