(I assume you mean the PIII will be slot 2 driven).

Actually the PIII (katmai) is driven by slot 1. The only difference is that
it's tailor made for the camino chipset (which probably won't come out for
a while), which has 4X AGP. When Intel releases the Pentium III, it looks
like they'll mostly be put into BX boards.
