The Scroller

---------------
This program is an experiment in trying to make it easier to read the long articles and documents sometimes found on the web, without having to sitting in a hard chair, staring at a tiny typeface.

Directions:
(1) Double click The Scroller.xls
(2) On a mac, press option-command-W to start the scroller. On a PC, go to the macro dialog box and choose "openit"
(3) When prompted for a text file, choose one using the standard Open dialog.
(4) Select a delay, how fast or slow the text will scroll. You may want to experiment until you find a speed you like. 75000 is a good starting speed.
(5) Select a number for where in the file you would like to start. Entering "1" starts at the beginning.
(6) After a delay, the scrolling will begin. To quit, press ESCAPE. The scrolling text can be modified, if, for instance, you don't like the yellow on black. You may want to experiment until you find comfortable settings.
(7) Settle back in your LA-Z-Boy across the room. The text will scroll across like a stock ticker. You can now (hopefully) read the thing in a way that is easier on the eyes.

In the unlikely event that you modify the code for the scroller and re-release it or use the code in something of your own, it would be nice if you would include my name and email, but it's not necessary.
